FD EVO Multi-function Digital Display QA

Q1: What vehicles are compatible with the FD EVO Multifunction Digital Display?

**A:** The FD EVO is compatible with vehicles manufactured after 2014 that support standard OBDII communication protocols. It supports 12V gasoline, diesel, and 48V mild hybrid vehicles. Simply plug into the OBDII port for automatic power on/off.

*Note: This product does not support hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles, or 24V trucks. Please confirm your vehicle specifications before installation.*

Q2:What driving data can be monitored after installation?

A: Through full-vehicle OBDII CANBUS scanning, the FD EVO can monitor up to 22 real-time driving parameters such as RPM, coolant temperature, voltage, and intake temperature. For additional engine data (e.g., oil pressure, exhaust temperature, boost), the optional S-Expand sensor expansion box can be used.

Q3:What initial setup is required after installation?

A: After installation and engine start-up, follow the instructions to:

Access the Source Filtering page to verify which OBDII signals are readable.

Select the data supported by your vehicle.

Return to the main screen and customize up to six display fields.

Q4:What if my vehicle does not support OBDII-based auto power on/off?

A: If your vehicle cannot provide a power signal via OBDII, you can switch to manual power mode using ACC power. Cut off the OBDII plug (ensure proper insulation), connect the red (+) and black (–) wires to the vehicle’s fuse box ACC +12V, then switch the FD EVO to "Manual Power Mode" internally.

Q5:How do I use the PEAK record function?

A: FD EVO automatically records and displays the highest value for each parameter on screen to track extreme performance data. However, if powered off by unplugging the OBDII connector or using ACC mode, PEAK history will not be retained.

Q6:Why is speed calibration needed?

A: Some ECUs have inherent speed discrepancies, and changing tire profiles can lead to mismatches between the actual and displayed speed. FD EVO’s speed calibration lets you adjust via percentage to ensure more accurate speed readings and safer driving.

Q7:What additional features does the S-Expand sensor expansion box offer?

A: The S-Expand supports multiple sensors (e.g., coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, boost, exhaust temp, fuel pressure), providing data not available from the factory ECU. It also allows turbo boost calibration to compensate for altitude or sensor offset, ensuring accurate readings.

Q8:What are the advantages of FD EVO's OLED panel?

A: The 2.42-inch OLED panel offers high contrast and wide viewing angles, maintaining excellent visibility even in strong or backlight conditions—helping drivers quickly read vital information.

Q8:Does FD EVO support HUD and warning threshold settings?

A: Yes. FD EVO supports multiple display modes, including Head-Up Display (HUD), and allows users to set peak values and warning thresholds to help drivers monitor vehicle status in real time and respond promptly.

Q8:After installation, FD EVO does not power on with engine start—how to fix this?

A: If the unit doesn't power on after the engine starts:

Check if the vehicle supports OBDII CANBUS and that the OBDII connector is securely connected to FD EVO.

If the connection is secure but still doesn't power on, inspect the OBDII fuse or try testing with a different vehicle. If the vehicle does not output a power signal through OBDII, switch to manual power mode via ACC.

Q8:FD EVO doesn't turn off after the engine stops—how to resolve this?

**A:** Since FD EVO supports 48V mild hybrid systems, it uses multiple parameters to determine if the vehicle is fully stopped. It may take some time to power down after engine shutdown—this is normal.

If the screen remains on for more than 10 minutes, switch to manual mode and configure based on voltage level to ensure proper power-off.
