[Event] Volkswagen T6 DSG transmission oil temperature test

pilgrimage event at Caotun Yutian Temple

In September 2024, we participated in the pilgrimage event at Caotun Yutian Temple, with the route starting from Caotun in Nantou County, Taiwan, heading to Nanyao Temple in Changhua City, and then returning to Caotun. The event posed a challenge for both participants and the support team, while also providing an opportunity for Shadow to conduct product field testing.

Shadow deployed a Volkswagen Caravelle T6 2.0 TDI as a support vehicle to accompany the procession and provide rest and supplies to the bearers. The vehicle is equipped with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission system, and we monitored its performance using Shadow's D-Meter 2 multi-functional diagnostic display.

The stop-and-go nature of the pilgrimage route allowed us to test the DSG transmission's oil temperature fluctuations, assessing its performance during extended periods of low-speed driving.

According to the test results, the transmission oil temperature remained stable between 81°C and 89°C throughout the three-day event, without any overheating issues. The vehicle's coolant temperature also stayed within normal ranges, verifying the stability of the DSG transmission system under these specific conditions.

In addition to the Caravelle, we also used a Toyota Sienna equipped with a 3.5 V6 2GR-FSE engine as another support vehicle. Given its abundant low-speed torque, we installed Shadow’s 4s throttle controller on the Sienna and set it to eco mode, reducing throttle response. This allowed the driver to control the throttle more precisely during slow driving, while effectively lowering fuel consumption.

This event not only allowed Shadow to witness the deep religious devotion of the local community but also provided an opportunity to conduct real-world tests on the DSG transmission oil temperature, continuing our commitment to delivering superior products to our customers.
