The ST-Filter high-flow air filter is crafted from high-density microfiber, featuring a unique pleated design and robust high-tensile strength. Data-driven evidence demonstrates performance improvement
To quantify the effectiveness of the ST-Filter high-flow air filter through data analysis, Shadow employed diagnostic instruments to log airflow data. This ensured that instantaneous airflow at high RPMs exceeded 210g/s, meeting the demand for timely air intake. Real-world vehicle tests were conducted on a dynamometer, comparing the power gains between the factory filter and the ST-Filter high-flow air filter.
According to the data results, under the same environmental conditions, each vehicle experienced an average increase of 5% in horsepower and torque when using the high-flow air filter.
Faster and denser supply of fresh air
Utilizing high-pressure water-jetted fiber-based bonding fabric, it possesses the characteristics of high tensile strength and excellent breathability. This fabric can reduce gas resistance, minimize turbulence formation, and capture even finer dust particles, achieving both high air intake flow and superior filtration efficiency simultaneously.
According to experimental results, despite a 32% increase in fiber density compared to paper filters, there is an 88% boost in air flow. This implies that when air passes through rapidly, the total volume increases, allowing for a more thorough mixing with fuel, ultimately enhancing combustion efficiency.
Cleaned and Maintained for repeated use
The intake system inevitably accumulates dirt and debris, including sand, gravel, insect remains, dust, etc. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) often use high-density paper air filters, which can initially block most dust. However, over time, these paper filters can deteriorate due to temperature and humidity changes, and they cannot be cleaned, leading to a reduction in airflow and decreased intake efficiency.
During regular maintenance, technicians typically use compressed air guns to clean air filters, but this practice is not suitable or recommended for OEM paper filters. It can damage the arrangement and density of the paper fibers, and small dust particles may become embedded in the fibers. Additionally, because paper filters cannot be washed, it is impossible to remove oil and dirt that may be blown into the filter.
ST high-flow air filters, on the other hand, can be cleaned and maintained repeatedly. They can directly replace OEM filters, not only effectively improving intake efficiency but also enhancing performance, which may degrade in OEM paper filters due to deterioration. These filters offer high performance while also being environmentally friendly.
